Amazon EMR Serverless

Amazon EMR Serverless now supports job run-level cost allocation, providing better visibility into charges for individual job runs. You can configure granular billing attribution at the job run level, enabling cost tracking in AWS Cost Explorer and Cost and Usage Reports by specific job run IDs and cost allocation tags.

Previously, cost allocation tags were limited to the application level. With job run-level cost allocation, you can now assign cost allocation tags to each job run, allowing fine-grained billing attribution and cost tracking by domains within a single application.

This feature is available in all AWS Regions where Amazon EMR Serverless is available, including AWS GovCloud (US) and China regions.

What to do

  • Enable job run-level cost allocation in your EMR Serverless applications.
  • Assign cost allocation tags to individual job runs.
  • Track costs by specific job run IDs and cost allocation tags in AWS Cost Explorer and Cost and Usage Reports.
