Amazon EMR 7.12 is now available with the new Apache Iceberg v3 table format and Apache Iceberg 1.10, enhancing data management capabilities.

New Features

• Apache Iceberg v3 Table Format: Reduces costs when deleting data, strengthens governance and compliance, and enhances data security.
• Apache Spark 3.5.6: Leverage Iceberg 1.10 capabilities for building robust data lakehouse architectures on Amazon S3.
• AWS Lake Formation Support: Data governance operations across Iceberg tables.
• Apache Trino 476: Included in this release.
