Amazon ECS Managed Instances in AWS European Sovereign Cloud

Amazon ECS Managed Instances is now available in the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, offering a fully managed compute option to reduce infrastructure management overhead.

  • Provides access to full capabilities of Amazon EC2
  • Dynamically scales EC2 instances to match workload requirements
  • Optimizes task placement to reduce infrastructure costs
  • Enhances security through regular security patching every 14 days
  • Allows specification of desired instance types, including GPU-accelerated, network-optimized, and burstable performance

What to do

  • Enable ECS Managed Instances in a new or existing Amazon ECS cluster using the AWS Console, Amazon ECS MCP Server, or infrastructure-as-code tooling
  • Be aware of additional charges for compute management
