Amazon EC2 Mac Instances Now Support Apple macOS Tahoe
Starting today, customers can run Apple macOS Tahoe (version 26) as Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) on Amazon EC2 Mac instances. This latest macOS version introduces new features and performance improvements, including support for Xcode version 26.0 or later.
EC2 macOS AMIs are backed by Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS) and include the AWS Command Line Interface, Command Line Tools for Xcode, Amazon SSM Agent, and Homebrew. The AWS Homebrew Tap provides the latest versions of AWS packages.
Apple macOS Tahoe AMIs are available for Apple silicon EC2 Mac instances in all AWS regions where these instances are available. Customers can access macOS Tahoe AMIs through the AWS Console, CLI, or API.
