AWS has made Amazon EC2 Storage Optimized I8g instances available in Asia Pacific (Seoul) and South America (Sao Paulo) regions. These instances offer enhanced performance for storage-intensive workloads, utilizing the latest third-generation AWS Nitro SSDs for improved real-time storage performance and reduced latency.
Key Features
- Performance: Up to 65% better real-time storage performance per TB, 50% lower storage I/O latency, and 60% lower storage I/O latency variability.
- Workloads: Optimized for I/O intensive tasks, including databases, real-time analytics, and AI LLM pre-processing.
- Instance Sizes: Available in 10 sizes up to 48xlarge, with 1.5 TiB of memory and 45 TB local instance storage.
- Network: Up to 100 Gbps network performance bandwidth and 60 Gbps dedicated bandwidth for EBS.
