Amazon EC2 C8a Instances Available in Europe (Spain) Region

Starting today, compute-optimized Amazon EC2 C8a instances are available in the Europe (Spain) region. These instances are powered by 5th Gen AMD EPYC processors, offering up to 30% higher performance and up to 19% better price-performance compared to C7a instances.

Key improvements include:

  • Performance: Up to 30% higher performance and up to 19% better price-performance compared to C7a instances.
  • Memory Bandwidth: 33% more memory bandwidth compared to C7a instances.
  • Java-based Applications: Up to 57% faster for GroovyJVM, allowing better response times.
  • Instance Sizes: 12 sizes available, including 2 bare metal sizes.

These instances are ideal for high performance, compute-intensive workloads such as batch processing, distributed analytics, HPC, ad serving, highly-scalable multiplayer gaming, and video encoding.

What to do

  • Sign in to the AWS Management Console to get started.
  • Purchase instances via Savings Plans, On-Demand instances, or Spot instances.
  • Visit the Amazon EC2 C8a instance page for more information.
