Amazon EC2 C7i Instances in Asia Pacific (Melbourne) Region

Amazon EC2 C7i instances powered by custom 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors are now available in the Asia Pacific (Melbourne) Region. These instances offer up to 15% better performance and price-performance compared to C6i instances, making them ideal for compute-intensive workloads.

New Features

  • Custom Intel Processors: C7i instances are powered by custom Intel processors available only on AWS.
  • Intel AMX: Support for new Intel Advanced Matrix Extensions to accelerate matrix multiplication operations for CPU-based ML.
  • Built-in Intel Accelerators: Bare metal sizes support Data Streaming Accelerator, In-Memory Analytics Accelerator, and QuickAssist Technology.
  • EBS Volumes: Support for up to 128 EBS volumes, compared to 28 for C6i instances.
