Amazon CloudWatch Database Insights

Amazon CloudWatch Database Insights now provides lock contention diagnostics for Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL instances, helping you identify the root cause of lock contention issues within minutes. Available exclusively in the Advanced mode, this feature visualizes locking conditions and persists historical locking data for 15 months.

What to do

  • Enable the Advanced mode of CloudWatch Database Insights on your Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL clusters via the RDS console, AWS APIs, or the AWS SDK.

CloudWatch Database Insights is available in all public AWS Regions and offers vCPU-based pricing. For more information, visit the Database Insights documentation.
