Amazon CloudFront IPv6 Delivery

Amazon CloudFront now supports end-to-end IPv6 delivery to origins inside your Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC) with the new dual-stack VPC origins. This feature allows customers to keep their Application Load Balancers (ALB), Network Load Balancers (NLB), and EC2 instances in private subnets that only their CloudFront distributions can reach, while also sending IPv6 traffic to these private origins.

What to do

  • Configure your VPC origins as dual-stack to enable end-to-end IPv6 delivery.
  • Ensure your CloudFront distributions are set up to reach your VPC origins.
  • Review the full list of supported Regions for dual-stack VPC origins.
